Colorful
Creations Bead Company started as the dream of 13 year old Emily
Rose. She had a successful jewelry business at 12 years old,
selling bracelets and necklaces at craft fairs in the area. She
had an idea that set her jewelry business apart from others.
Emily Rose researched the healing and protective properties
of
the stones that she incorporated in her jewelry, and wrote cards
on her computer about each of these stones, so that when she
sold a piece of her jewelry, the buyer also received information
about the stones. Her business was so successful, that after
participating in just a handful of craft shows, she put $3,000
in the bank. Just from selling $4.00 necklaces and bracelets!
That spring, she approached her parents about opening a retail
store, and during the months that followed, she worked with
bankers, real estate agents, and lawyers to begin her new
business. While still in 8th grade, she was
traveling all over the country to meet with vendors and
suppliers to choose merchandise for the new store. Colorful
Creations Bead Company opened its doors in August 2005 and was
immediately accepted in the beading community as a destination
for not only purchasing supplies, taking classes, terrific
birthday parties and Girls Night Out, but for the friendly,
relaxed atmosphere of the store and staff. Emily Rose was known
as a successful young entrepreneur, giving speeches at
libraries, schools, colleges and to girl’s organizations about
her accomplishments, hoping to inspire others like her. Now a
Junior in high school and on the Honor Roll, Emily Rose remains
involved in her dream by working on the weekends, during school
vacations and all summer. She is in charge of organizing and
replenishing the inventory, teaching classes (her specialty is
Chainmaille), running the cash register and helping customers
design jewelry and finishing up their creations for them. She is
also the hostess for our birthday parties and Girls Night Out
parties.

Pat,
Emily Rose’s mom, gave up a successful cake decorating business
to open the bead store with Emily Rose. Her dad, Vic, remains
behind the scenes as the financial advisor—and sometimes behind
the counter when the girls are out of town on purchasing trips!

In 2007, Ryan Diederich joined the CCBC team.
Only 15 years old at the time, he immediately became invaluable to
the store as not only the computer whiz, but making our physical
store more efficient and customer-friendly with his ideas.
Ryan teaches many classes, specializing in wire work, and has
invented fabulous bracelet designs with seed beads that he has been
teaching as well. He was instrumental in designing and building the
newest addition to our store, recognizing that increasing the size
of our studio was essential to our customers as we had quickly
outgrown our original space.

Bailey, Our Bead Ambassador, is at the store
every day. A retired show champion, our little Boston Terrier is
convinced that everyone comes to the store just to play with him!
Although he is blind, he loves when anyone throws his ball for
him…he even brings it back! You can see him on our TV commercials
that air frequently on NBC and CBS.
