What's Important To Us |
|
Important to us here at Colorful
Creations is the charity work that we
do.
We donate to worthy organizations on
both on the local and international
levels. We are a drop-off site for Open
Pantry and for Toys for Tots—
Not just during the holidays, but all
year round.
Bring in a non-perishable food donation
or a new unwrapped toy and receive a
free ticket to our monthly drawing for a
$25.00 Gift Card to our store!
Give…it feels good.

Bead for Life
  |
|
Women from the African
country of Uganda, many who have lost
their husbands to disease or war, create
vividly-colored jewelry to support their
families. The money given to this
organization is used for food, medical
supplies, schooling, and housing to give
them a better life. Experience Ugandan
music and atmosphere at our annual Bead
For Life Charity Day in July; you’ll
have the opportunity to purchase this
lovely jewelry, stationary, fabric
jewelry pouches and musical CD’s and be
helping out less fortunate folks at the
same time.

Lets Talk Snakes!
   |
|
Karen and John from the
non-profit organization, “Let’s Talk
Snakes!” visit us each year for a
Charity Day in July. They bring a
selection of turtles, alligators,
lizards, snakes and frogs to educate the
public to these amazing creatures. Not a
reptile lover? That’s okay, this event
is held under the tent in our parking
lot, not inside the store! Create a
bracelet or keychain using our special
critter charms for $5.00 and all
proceeds go directly to this
rehabilitation program.

Wingmasters
  |
|
Julie Collier of
Wingmasters, a western
Massachusetts-based organization that
rehabilitates raptors (eagles, hawks and
owls) visits us annually in March for a
Charity Day that introduces these
awesome birds to the public. The birds
that Julie brings inside our store are
“goodwill ambassadors”—those whose
injuries were such that they will never
be able to be released into the wild.
Over $500 was raised for
the rehabilitation of raptors in
Massachusetts when Julie Collier was at
Colorful Creations in 2009 to raise
public awareness of these beautiful
birds.
|
  |
|
Julie
is also an incredible artist, and will
bring her artwork—bookmarks, stationary,
and prints—for sale to raise money to
help these birds. Make a bracelet or
keychain with special raptor charms that
day for $5.00—all proceeds go directly
to Wingmasters.

Show off Your Bust!
In jewelry making, the structure we use
to display jewelry is called a “bust”.
To promote the 15th anniversary of
Baystate Medical Center’s Rays Of Hope
program for research, education, and in
support of breast health, Colorful
Creations Bead Company sponsored its
first annual “Show Off Your Bust”
contest.
Entrants made a donation to Rays Of Hope
and were given a clear acrylic bust to
decorate. These busts were on display at
CCBC for the month of October, so the
public could vote for “best of” in four
categories: Most Glamorous, Most
Humorous, Most Sentimental, and
Funkiest. The 2009 winners are: Cindy
Lutz Cornet (Longmeadow), Laura Smithies
(W. Springfield), Bill Wisniewski
(Chicopee), and Jane Martin (Agawam).
Photos of the winning busts are
attached.
In addition, CCBC offered a raffle to
benefit Rays Of Hope with three prizes:
a handmade polymer clay necklace and
earring set by internationally known
artist, Lynne Ann Schwarzenberg, a
handmade polymer clay necklace by
internationally known artist, Christi
Friesen, and a globe made with
semi-precious stones of each country
(donated by Claudia Conlan). The winners
of the raffle were: Cindy Boucher, Carly
Niemiec, and Robin Siciliano.
Rays Of Hope has benefitted with a
donation of over $1,000.00
